My first blog of 2008

Can you believe it is 2008 already? I can't beleieve that in just a month and a half, my tiny little peanut will be 1 year old! That is unbelievable. I guess I should have some goals for 2008. I think they are the same as everyones. I would like to learn to budget our money better. I am the one in charge of taking care of the money, and I don't think I have been doing that good of a job of it. I also would like to lose a bit of weight. I weigh less then I did before I had the baby, but I don't look better. I need to lose some of my extra around the middle. So hard to do after Christmas, especially since Christmas candy is 50% off!

2008, 2008. What will this year hold? We hope to get a majority of our renovations done this year. I need to do more then hope, I need to DO!

We spent our New Year's Eve as a nice quiet evening at home. We are not huge New Years Eve partiers. The little peanut actually stayed up until midight, so I got the chance to kiss both of my favourite men.

Other then that, not much is new. Maybe I will have more to write later.

In Memory of Florence Harris

My grandma passed away on December 22, 2007. She was an incredible woman who has passed on a huge legacy to all who have known her. She was beautiful inside and out and was one of the wisest people I have ever known. I miss her so much already, but I know that she is in a better place. I am grateful that she is no longer suffering. It is so strange to be in her house and not have her there.
All the Advice You Will Ever Need To Have a Good Life

they need it most.
I love you, Grandma!

A little break

I had a little break from blogging. I went and spent a couple of days at my mom and dad's place and helped them get their house ready for Christmas. We are having my side of the family's Christmas this weekend, which is cool, but I am nowhere near ready.

Another thing that is totally off topic, is that my breasts have suddenly become sore. I am still breastfeeding Peanut, and he feeds a lot. I have not got my period back yet. I am sort of wondering if I might be pregnant again, because the pain feels very similar to when I was pregnant with Peanut. I know that it is not a plugged milk duct, because I had that when I first started nursing him, and the pain is completely different. One breast is definately sorer then the other.

Okay, I am done with that now. If anyone reads this who has experienced something similar, please leave a comment. i would appreciate it a lot!

The baby is down for a nap, so I have a quick chance to blog, even though there are a ton of other things I should be doing right now. I am also trying to do some Christmas shopping over ebay. In both mine and Gabe's family, we do a draw. I have Gabe's youngest brother, who is 14. I am buying him items of his favourite band's clothing. I have already bought two items of ebay which I have gotten a really good deal on.

I am also attempting to set up my tree today, which is bound to end in disaster. I will refer to my son as Peanut (that is what I called him when I was pregnant with him. Peanut is into everything. I find him dragiing hammers and crowbars and whatever he can get his tiny hands on all over the house. He has been very busy since he was born. He is also the loudest baby I know. Putting up my tree, I have discovered that only half of one strand of lights work, and all the rest don't. Ugghhh! I hate when that happens.

Peanut just woke up, duty calls!

What? Two days in a row?

So I am blogging again today. Pretty impressive, huh? We have finished all of the flooring in our living room, bedrooms, and hallways. It looks so much better and it feels so good to have it done. Next step is to finish our porch, and then move onto the kitchen. I cannot wait to get the kitchen done. This is unfortunately, another short blog. I have a few minutes by myself each night while Gabe rocks the baby to sleep (awwwww!) The baby is out, and we seriously need our sleep. It has been some late nights getting these floors finished. I promise to post pictures soon!

I am now going to make more of an effort to blog. We have moved, and are somewhat settled into our house. We are up to our necks in renovations that I know will be worth it, but it feels as of it is dragging on. This is just a quick post to let whoever stops by know that I am coming back. I need to do some journalling and some reflecting. I am feeling a little down right now, so I am not so much in the mood. I will write more, I promise. Just not right now.
